American journalist and author, who also educated himself in his hobby; pathology, i.e. the science of how illnesses and causes of death can be diagnosed through the analysis of cells, tissue and organs. Lawrence G. (Goldtree) Blochman used his knowledge of the subject in his writing, above all in the detective stories about the senior pathologist in Northbank County in the USA, Dr Daniel Webster Coffee. But he also wrote thrillers, and both on his own and in cooperation with others was a prolific author of non-fiction books in various different subjects. He also worked as both an editor and ‘ghost-writer’.
