Rolf Börjlind was born in Västra Skrävlinge in Malmö. He started studying at the College of Journalism in Stockholm in 1965, but didn’t complete the course. In the 1960s and 1970s he was active in several cultural fields, for example as a poet, writer, producer and actor. Together with the artist Carsten Regild he started the cultural magazine Vargen as well as the Vargen publishing house, and together with Bruno K. Öijer he published Nya tider, nya änglar : samtal, dikter, manifest (1976). In the late 1970s, he became a copywriter at an advertising agency and later started to write satire in the daily press, subsequently concentrating all the more on writing screenplays.
