Brooks, Terry

The prolific American author of fantasy fiction, Terrence Dean Brooks, better known as Terry Brooks, was born in Sterling, Illinois, where he resided for many years. He read a lot as a child, and wrote some science fiction and western stories in his teens that he failed to finish. Brooks graduated with a BA in English from Hamilton College, Illinois, in 1966 and went on to study law at Washington and Lee University, Virginia, graduating in 1969.
