Marianne Fredriksson
Swedish author and journalist, born in Gothenburg but moved with her family to Roslagen as an adult. In 1962-74 Marianne Fredriksson was the editor-in-chief of Allt i hemmet, a magazine she also helped to start. She was also one of the initiators of the magazines Vi föräldrar and Allt om mat, and in 1968 she received The Journalistic award (Stora Journalistpriset) for her innovative work. Maxim Gorky
Russian author, born and raised in Nizhny Novgorod at the Volga River. His real name was Alexei Maximovich Peshkov, but he took the name Maxim Gorky at the age of 24, when he made his debut as an author with the novel Makar Chudra (1892). The last name, Gorky, means "bitter" in Russian. His father was a carpenter and paperhanger, but the family was very poor.
