Irish author and screenwriter who grew up in Kilbarrack, Dublin, Ireland. Doyle has a Bachelor of Arts from University College Dublin. He taught English and geography between 1979 and 1993 when he started to write full time. Living in Dublin, he is married to Belinda with whom he has two sons. Roddy Doyle is regarded as one of Ireland's foremost contemporary authors.
