Ellin, Stanley

Stanley Bernard Ellin was an American mystery writer born in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from Brooklyn College with a Bachelor of Arts in 1936. This was during the great depression, so although his grades were good, work was hard to find. He did odd jobs like teaching and working in a steel mill before he was drafted and served in the Second World War. He married Jeanne Michael in 1937.
