Fois, Marcello

Marcello Fois is an Italian author and playwright born in Nuoro, Sardinia. He grew up on the island and later attended the University of Bologna, graduating in 1986. He still lives in Bologna, although he spends extended periods in Sardinia. Fois wrote his first novel in 1989, and after some difficulties finding a publisher it was published as Ferro recente in 1992. By that time Fois had co-founded Gruppo 13 – a production cooperative for young Italian authors – together with, among others, Carlo Lucarelli and Loriano Macchiavelli.
