Barbara Margaret Gill was a British author of crime fiction. She was born in Holyhead, Anglesey, Wales. Little is known about her early life or her private life, she seldom gave interviews. She attended Le Bon Sauveur Convent school at Holyhead and went on to study at Redland College, Bristol. She dropped out of school when she was fifteen and worked as a secretary in Holyhead. She then got a teaching job in Somerset after which she worked as a chiropodist in Bristol.
