Goodwin, Jason

Jason Goodwin is a British author and journalist. His mother, the bohemian author Jocasta Innes, and his father, the author and estate agent John Michell, were briefly involved in a relationship that broke up before their son was born. Jason was adopted by his mother’s husband, the film producer Richard B. Goodwin, but when Jason was three years old, his mother left her husband for a younger man. He grew up with Goodwin’s mother in the New Forest, Hampshire, and with his mother in Swanage, Dorset. He later became close to his father, whom he did not see for the first time until he was 28 years old.
