Hagerfors, Lennart

Olof Lennart Hagerfors' parents Maja and Sven were both missionaries in the former Belgian Congo, now the Democratic Republic of the Congo. They had worked in the area since 1930, but when Hagerfors was born they happened to be visiting their hometown of Eskilstuna in Sweden. The family returned to Africa when Hagerfors was one year old, and he and his two siblings grew up there, only visiting Eskilstuna, and later Lidingö near Stockholm, for brief periods.
