Hart, Carolyn

Carolyn Hart was born Carolyn Gimpel in Oklahoma City, a city where she lived all her life. She attended the University of Oklahoma, graduating with a degree in journalism in 1958, the same year she married her husband, Philip D. Hart; they have two children, a son and a daughter. Hart wanted to be a journalist from age eleven, and she contributed to school and university magazines throughout her education. She worked at The Norman Transcript between 1958 and 1960 and started to freelance when her son was born. She taught journalism at the University of Oklahoma between 1982 and 1985 and has been a full time author since 1986.
