Howard, Catherine Ryan

Irish author, born in Cork and raised in the suburb of Grange. Catherine Ryan Howard decided at an early age to become an author, and as a teenager she wrote several book manuscripts which were never published. After finishing school, she started to travel, took temporary jobs in the Netherlands and France, but finally settled in the USA, in 2006 getting a job as a receptionist at Disneyworld in Orlando, Florida. Later, together with a friend, she went on a not particularly successful ‘backpacker journey’ in Central America, before returning to Ireland and Cork in 2010. She got a job at a B&B establishment while she wrote her first self-published books. She now lives in Dublin.
