The British publisher and author Herbert (George) Jenkins is remembered partly for having introduced several popular writers in his home country, and partly for his own books about the entertaining and irrepressible Cockney figure Joseph Bindle as well as Bindle’s family and friends. Most of Jenkins’ novels and collections of short stories, which also include crime stories about private detective Malcolm Sage, are still published in new editions, printed works as well as audio and/or e-books.
