Reginald Hill
The British author Reginald Charles Hill was born in West Hartlepool, Durham, but he moved with his family to Carlisle, Cumberland (now Cumbria) when he was three years old after his father, a professional footballer, had been bought by Carlisle United. Reginald Hill attended Stanwix School where he med Patricia "Pat" Ruell. They were married in 1960. The marriage was childless, but the couple were great dog and cat lovers.

James Robert Runcie is an author, documentary film maker, television producer and playwright. He was born in Cambridge and is the son of Robert Runcie, former Bishop of St. Albans as well as a former Archbishop of Canterbury.
