The Swedish author Torgny Lindgren was born Gustav Torgny Lindgren at Raggsjö, Västerbotten County. In the 1970s, he moved to Vimmerby in Småland where he worked as a schoolteacher. Lindgren lived with his wife Stina at Tjärstad vicarage near Rimforsa, Östergötland County.
