McKinty, Adrian

Adrian McKinty was born in Belfast and grew up in Carrickfergus, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, where he attended Victoria Primary School and Carrick Grammar School. He went on to read law at the University of Warwick and later politics and philosophy at Oxford where he met his future wife, Leah Garrett. After McKinty had graduated in 1993, he and his American wife moved to Harlem, New York, where he took on various, more or less legal, odd jobs such as security guard, bartender, bookshop assistant, rugby trainer, door-to-door salesman and construction worker.
