The Swedish author Kristina Ohlsson was born and grew up in Kristianstad as one of six siblings. As a child she was sickly, read a lot and already during her teens became interested in foreign and security politics. After matriculation in 1998, she left her home town to study in Stockholm, Göteborg and Israel. After she graduated from university with majors in Political Science and International Relations she got a job as an analyst for the Swedish Security Service. She has also worked at the Swedish Defence University and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After a few months at the Swedish embassy in Bagdad, she moved to Vienna and a position as a terrorist expert with the world’s largest regional security organisation, Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE)
