James Robert Runcie is an author, documentary film maker, television producer and playwright. He was born in Cambridge and is the son of Robert Runcie, former Bishop of St. Albans as well as a former Archbishop of Canterbury. The family moved to Oxford in 1960 where Runcie attended the Dragon School and between 1972 and 1977 – when the family lived in St. Albans – Marlborough College. Runcie went on to study English at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, earning a first-class degree in 1981.
