Saunders, George

George Saunders is primarily an author of short stories. He was born in Amarillo, Texas, and grew up in Chicago. When he was a high school student his whole family worked for a fast food chain where he encountered a lot of people for whom the restaurant was the closest they came to having a family. He has said that he had no idea how many lonely, isolated people there were in America before he had this experience.
