Schepp, Emelie

Emelie Schepp is considered to be the most successful self-published writer in Sweden, thanks to just one book. Her debut work Marked for Life (2013, Märkta för livet) was turned down by a number of publishers, then self-published and marketed on the internet through her own streamlined marketing devices. The result was so compelling that an established publishing house reissued the book in 2014, which in turn led to international recognition and numerous readers. The first edition was of uneven quality, however, and the book was reissued in a revised and extended version under the same title in 2023.
