Taylor, Phoebe Atwood

An American crime writer, born in Boston as Phoebe Atwood Taylor – a name that she could retain for the rest of her life as she married Dr Grantley W. Taylor. She grew up in Cape Cod in Massachusetts, where her family had lived for centuries – ever since a forefather left England with the ship Mayflower in 1620 and had settled there. It is also on Cape Cod that many of her books for the larger part are set, although she herself lived in or near Boston for the greater part of her adult life.
