Polish author, born in the little village Klenica in western Poland, where her parents were teachers at a residential college, but from the age of one she grew up in the town of Kietrz. As an adult, Olga Tokarczuk moved to Warsaw, trained as a Jungian psychologist and has also worked as a psychotherapist. She has since lived in many places, but is now settled in Wroclaw and Nowa Ruda close to Walbrzych in south-western Poland where many of her prose texts and novels are set. She gives courses in literary form at the university in Krakow.
